Innovation Hackathon 3.0: Nominations Closed, Shortlisting and First-Level Jury Evaluation to Begin Soon

The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Uttarakhand, under the School Education Department, Government of Uttarakhand, has successfully concluded the online nomination phase of State-Level Teacher–Student Innovation Hackathon 3.0, an initiative designed to promote creativity, technological innovation, problem-solving, and collaborative learning among students and teachers across the state.

Organised under the theme “AI & Digital Innovation for Solving Real-World Challenges,” the hackathon encourages young innovators and educators to transform their creative ideas into practical, technology-driven solutions addressing challenges faced by schools, communities, and society.

Nominations Closed: The Journey Towards Innovation Continues

With the closure of the online nomination process on 31 October 2026, Hackathon 3.0 has now entered its next important phase: screening, shortlisting, and first-level jury evaluation.

The initiative provides a platform for students and teachers to demonstrate their innovative thinking, explore emerging technologies, and develop solutions using Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital tools, robotics, automation, and other creative approaches.

Through this programme, SCERT Uttarakhand seeks to strengthen a culture of innovation, design thinking, computational thinking, and experiential learning in school education, in alignment with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

Next Steps: Shortlisting and First-Level Jury Evaluation

Following the closure of nominations, the organising team will initiate the evaluation process.

1. Initial Screening and Shortlisting

Submitted entries will be reviewed for eligibility, relevance to the hackathon theme, originality, creativity, and potential educational or societal impact.

2. First-Level Jury Evaluation

A jury of subject experts and innovation professionals will evaluate eligible proposals based on their problem-solving approach, feasibility, innovation potential, and practical applicability.

3. Announcement of Shortlisted Entries

The first-level jury decisions and shortlisted entries will be published on the official Innovate Uttarakhand portal following completion of the evaluation process.

4. Mentoring and Prototype Development

Selected participants will be encouraged to refine their ideas, strengthen their proposed solutions, and develop prototypes for subsequent stages of the hackathon.

Innovation Hackathon 3.0 is more than a competition. It represents an opportunity to transform classrooms into centres of creativity, experimentation, collaboration, and problem-solving.

The initiative encourages participants to identify real-world problems and explore technology-enabled solutions in areas such as education, environmental sustainability, agriculture, healthcare, community safety, accessibility, and digital inclusion.
